As an DAC&headphone amplifier combo, DX1 II connects to a computer or tablet via USB and outputs audio through the 3.5 mm single-ended or 4.4 mm balanced headphone jack, providing stable and capable drive for your headphones
Built on its core DAC& functionality, DX1 II is also equipped with independent optical input and output, supporting up to PCM 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD64 (DoP). This means DX1 II is no longer limited to use with a computer. It can also be integrated with your CD player, TV, or game console, allowing unified PEQ processing before sending the signal to downstream audio equipment.
Feed the DX1 II from your computer via USB, apply 10-band PEQ, then send the processed signal through optical output to a traditional DAC. A simple way to bring new flexibility and fresh performance to your existing setup
Whether your source is a digital transport, streamer, or a game console paired with a projector, as long as it provides an optical output, you can route it into the DX1 Il and add high-precision 10-band PEQ DSP processing to the system.
In preamp mode, the DX1 If supports volume adjustment on both its RCA single-ended line output and 4.4 mm balanced line output, allowing direct connection to a power amplifier or active speakers, whether using USB or optical input.
The TOPPING Home Web platform* makes DX1 II tuning clearer and more convenient. With the new drag-and-drop visual PEQ interface, you can easily create your ideal PEQ settings. After entering the community, you can also apply EQ files shared by other users with one click, share your own original EQ profiles, and communicate with more users.
DX1 II supports up to 10 bands of fully customizable PEQ adjustment.* With TOPPING's self-developed tuning algorithm and TOPPING Tune software, you can precisely adjust frequency, gain, and bandwidth, with independent left/right channel settings available. TOPPING Tune also supports importing both target curves and raw curves, then generating compensation based on the target curve. Multiple profiles can be saved for quick and convenient switching. PEQ is available across all outputs - whether you are feeding a legacy DAC, listening from a computer with headphones for music and gaming, or connecting to speakers for playback, DX1 II lets you fine-tune the sound with precision for your ideal setup.
Experienced players can use the 10-band high-precision PEQ to create and save multiple sound profiles, making footsteps more pronounced and positional cues clearer. This helps you react faster and seize the advantage in competitive play.
Equipped with a 3.5 mm audio jack, DX1 II supports standard headphones as well as TRRS gaming headsets with microphone input. The input supports up to 192 kHz / 24-bit. Whether in intense gaming or voice recording scenarios, a single headset can handle both high-fidelity audio playback and clear voice communication at the same time-delivering a gaming experience beyond typical onboard audio.
To support a wider range of source devices, the USB input offers both UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 modes. When connected to devices such as Nintendo Switch and PlayStation, simply switch to UAC 1.0 mode for compatibility, enabling a plug-and-play experience for both gaming and music.
Equipped with ESS's new-generation high-performance DAC chip ES9039Q2M, DX1 II is further upgraded on the basis of DX1, delivering a higher dynamic range and lower distortion performance.
Powerful Headphone Amplifier Output
The headphone output is available via 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm single-ended ports. Powered solely by the USB connection, DX1 II delivers up to 1000mW x2 @320 (THD+N <1%). It also features two gain settings (High/Low). Combined with strong output power and selectable gain, it is capable of driving a wide range of headphones, from low-impedance IEMs to high-impedance headphones.
For an entry-level DAC&Amp combo, delivering enough output power is not difficult. What is truly costly is achieving a genuinely quiet background. We invested significant effort into optimizing the audio circuit, ultimately lowering the noise floor to an impressive <0.9 μ Vrms*. Even with highly sensitive IEMs, you can enjoy a clean, silent, and pitch-black background for your music.
DX1 II adopts a fully balanced headphone amplifier architecture with four channels and independent left/right channel design, delivering true balanced amplification from DAC stage to output stage. This not only provides strong driving power and more stable control, but also further improves resolution, dynamics, and imaging. When listening to music, fine details and layering are reproduced with greater clarity, while the soundstage opens up more naturally. When gaming, footsteps, ambient cues, and gunfire are rendered with greater precision, making positional awareness easier and more confident.
Powered by the high-end 16-core XU-316, DX1 II supports PCM up to 384kHz and DSD256 for high-fidelity lossless playback. It also features a custom Thesycon USB driver for Windows, while offering driver-free operation on macOS-ensuring stable and reliable performance.
The USB-C port supports plug-and-play operation, combining data transfer and 5V power input in a single connection. Simply connect it to a computer, tablet, or other compatible device for integrated power and high-quality audio playback.
Leveraging years of circuit design expertise, we has developed a proprietary discrete low-noise reference power supply technology. It provides independent, clean, and stable power for the DAC and analog amplification stages.
